Sunday afternoon Shannon picked me up to take me out to eat and a movie for my birthday. I had seen the previews to the movie "The Women" and it looked so cute..... a real chick flick! I couldn't tell you last time hubby and I went to a movie....first, there's not much out there worth seeing! And then the cost is sky-high! We usually go to a matinee. They keep the theaters so cold that it's almost unbearable....of course, you have to have popcorn and a drink (about $20 for two to eat, and that's the "small" size). Anyway, I digress....
Run, do not walk, and take thyself to see "The Women". The cast is wonderful and the story line was easy to follow and rated PG13. This is a great movie to see, I highly recommend it.
By the way, I think there were two guys in the whole theater!

Someone else in blogland said it was good. I think Meg Ryan has kinda ruined herself...it looks like she had some work done. I just love her but everytime I look at her she looks odd. cherry
Hi...okey-dokey then, I'll get my gal pals together and we'll go see this! ;-) Bo
I was wondering if it was any good.
Thanks for the recommendation.
I'll have to see if I can find time to check it out.
Looks great, I am always looking for a good chick flick!
I plan on seeing the movie, but if you haven't seen the original rent the DVD. It's from 1939 I think and terrific. They did a remake in the 1950's that was ok. I want to see how this version compares. I'll most likely wait to see it on DVD as movie theaters are too cold and too loud for me! Karen
I want to see this one too! It looks fun.
Thanks so much for the review, Judy. I was wondering how it would be. I've seen the old movie, but it's been awhile.
I think I might have to go see this version.
Have a great week!
Glad to hear it is good. I hate to go see a movie in a theatre if movie is not so good. We like to rent them, have a nice dinner while we watch. oh, and pause it for bathroom breaks!
I can hardly wait to go. I had a makeover last year in a local spa and the guest "celebrity" makeup artist, Julie Hewett, had just wrapped up working on "The Women"...Getting to hear about her experiences with all of those wonderful actresses was a bonus.
Thanks for the movie recommendation. I like to see chick flicks with my gal pals too. Why make my hubby suffer through one :)
Blessings,
Sher
oh I heard this was good, I'd really like to get and see it, gotta love a chick flick, I love watching them, such a chill out...
Sarah

HEY Judy (MIMI),
Wow , it is a small world isn't it?
We are not going to be able to attend the LSU game on Saturday and I think that might be a blessing with the TIGERS performance last week against MSU. That was AWFUL! BUT WAR EAGLE ANYWAY!
I would love to meet you sometime....it sounds like we have lots in common.
I am adding your blog to my list also!
WITH REGARDS.

Hello girl..I will definitely see it...I have always liked Meg Ryan....hope you have a great week.
Thanks for the recommendation. It looked good, but you just never know with movies.
Happy belated birthday!
Judy
Taking your recommendation to see this, I was wondering if it was good!
Love the work you have done in the kitchen, it looks fantastic!
I have been wondering about that movie, so I'm glad you get your recommendation. Some of my girlfriends might want to see it.
I was so glad to meet Shannon too! I heard her calling Taylor and thought she had to be Judy's daughter. Hopefully meeting us helped her put aside any worries about your blog friends. I think we were pretty normal, except for Carson wanting to climb on everything behind Gigi's studio. And that's pretty normal too!
Dinner sounds great. And my friend Kristy is planning a local bloggers lunch for October 4th. I'm hoping to attend and will put a notice on my blog. She is linked in my sidebar if you want to check out her plans.
I will add it to my list... thank you!
Hey Judy enjoy the game...GO Auburn!
i heard this was a good movie too & I'm wanting to see it now.
BTW, I love love your blue, black dining room! That blue is perfect.
Take care, DebraK
Sounds good Judy, thanks for the tip.
Hugs,
Sue
I'm so glad to hear from someone who actually saw it. I was iffy after seeing the commercials, so I'm excited now that you said it's good. I'll have to check it out. I still remember watching the original on video years ago. -Julia :-)
The girls and I had a few spare moments after visiting Joe at Faulkner yesterday, and we stopped in to visit U Name It, the little gift shop on Atlanta Highway across from the school. It was so cute, and I wanted to tell you they had the cutest lime green platter with pink ribbon woven through. And it was monogrammed! I believe it was $35. I didn't have a chance to ask them if it comes in other colors. But it was darling. They had so many cute things. The girls and I oohed and aahed over everything. I can't wait to go back!
oh, I can't wait to see it. So glad you enjoyed it...

April went to see this and said she loved it.
You are right about the game. They looked great at first and then started messing up.
One of my bestfriends that graduated Auburn and LOVED them died of cancer yesterday am at 2. I almost wanted them to win for him =)
My bff and I saw it on Friday night...definately a good movie. I don't think there was a man in the whole movie (until the end)!
Happy Belated Birthday! Your ring is so beautiful!
Thanks for the heads up on the movie! ~Rhonda :)
Going to see it this weekend, glad it is living up to all the advertisement.
