Breakfast for Supper

We love breakfast for supper. It's quick and easy and s-o-o-o much better than those breakfast bars. A while back I discovered Breakfast Skillets by Jimmy Dean. In addition to this stuff tasting great, they've done all the work for you....chopping up the peppers and onions and adding meat and hash browns. We like the one with ham but they have sausage and bacon flavors too.

Just put in a preheated skillet with a little oil and cook for approximately 10 minutes or until done

The package call for scrambling eggs in with the hash brown combo but I usually cook them in a separate pan

And there you have it! A quick but filling meal in a snap! Oh, I also baked some cinnamon rolls with creme cheese icing instead of biscuits.....yum yum!

How many of ya'll like to fix breakfast for supper? I would love to know some of your favorite receipes.

My mom used to make waffles for dinner sometimes. I do it too, sometimes. The skillet meal sounds great!

We love breakfast for supper. We do it all the time. I make it all, but eggs and all the fixin's happens to be everyone's favorite. No special recipe, just good old breakfast. Though Hubby and Thomas love a good skillet, they like it with (gag) corned beef hash.

ummm, breakfast for supper is often at our cottage. I like it just as good at that time of day as early. We love pancakes and waffles for supper but I sure am going to give Mr. J. Dean a try. Thanks for the heads up on it....

We never have breakfast for breakfast! LOL
As the cooler weather approaches we start wanting breakfast for supper. I love it so much more for supper. We do anything from pancakes with sausage or bacon to homemade biscuits with eggs, sausage or bacon.

We love breakfast for supper too. Gravy on biscuits - wow! I've wondered about those kits. How much easier can it get? Wish someone would clean it up. :)

I'm in complete agreement with you on this Jimmy Dean product...I tried it a few weeks ago and we LOVE it too...we've only had the sausage one, but now I want to try the ham & also the smoked sausage. My DH even approves and he usually doesn't go for the commercial stuff. Yummy...

We have breakfast at least once a month for dinner. Always the same: biscuits, gravy, country ham, scrambled eggs and for dessert these divine rollups:

Cinnamon Rollups
24 slices firm sandwich bread – crusts removed
8 oz. cream cheese softened
Yolk from 1 egg
1 ¼ cup sugar
1 TBS cinnamon
1 stick melted margarine

Roll bread flat. Mix cream cheese yolk and ¼ cup sugar. Spread 1 Tbs. on each slice and roll up tightly. Mix 1 c. sugar and 1 Tbs. cinnamon. Brush rolls, including ends, with butter and roll in cinnamon sugar mixture. Place on cookie sheet and refrigerate or freeze at least 2 hours. May freeze up to 2 months.
Heat oven to 400 Bake 9-12 minutes until golden brown.

We LOVE breakfast suppers, and when our kids were little we almost always had that on Sunday nights. It was always a treat.

Hi, Judy ...

I just got back from the grocery store and wish I had read this before I went ... I would have looked for the Jimmy Dean Skillet Breakfast Skillets. That sounds so good, especially with scrambled eggs on the side.

Our favorite "breakfast for supper" is fried eggs on toast. It's easy, quick, and delicious.

Thank you for sharing the Breakfast Skillets with us. I'll definitely look for them the next time I go to the store.

Sincerely,

Janie

Golly, you are 1/3 of the way there! What? You may ask, am I talking about? Come over to my place and see if you'd like to participate in my "Share a NoBrainer Dinner Idea" post.
This looks like something I will make as a future dinner. Thanks for sharing.

I love breakfast for dinner, but have yet to switch it (unless you count cold pizza in my college days!) I grew up on a large egg farm, my grandparents had a little over 1200 chickens, and my dad had two milk cows. I'm a big fan of "farm breakfasts."

YUMM that looks so good and breakfast is my favorite anytime of day. Nancy

Judy! I'm so glad you are going to participate. It should be fun to add some quick and tasty meals to our repertoire! It's my first time hosting anything, so I hope I don't screw it up!

we love love love having breakfast for supper! looking forward to seeing you at Eastside Grill!

I can just hear the sweetness of Paula Dean voice while reading your blog!!!...

Yes, we are meeting the first Sat of November. The final decision was to meet every other month - on the odd number month. So, November it is! We will meet at Eastside again and from there decide who will "host" the next month (ie - decide where to eat and let the rest of us know!)

Kristi said...

Yes, so I totally told you wrong. Believe it or not, I was unloading groceries and thought, "I told Judy that the lunch was on the 1st Sat - but it is the 2nd Sat - always the 2nd Saturday... at 11:00am at Eastside. Hope you can make it!

I like all of Jimmy Dean's products, especially the new Breakfast Skillets GD expects me to have the breakfast links when she spends the night. Other times we have the patties. The links and patties heat perfectly in the microwave. They are already fully cooked. Occasionally I cook a pound roll for Sunday breakfast and DH crumbles the leftovers in his cheese grits each morning, the following week. Breakfast for supper can't be beat.
