Back Roads and Small Southern Towns

Tomorrow hubby and I will head out bright and early for a few days.    We have no specific destination in mind….just drive toward north Alabama to see the fall foliage traveling the backroads of Alabama and  passing through small southern towns.   We hope to see some sights like this:

….while driving down a beautiful tree lined road like this….

FALL PHOTO #3

and I have no doubt we will see something very much like this:

This is our favorite kind of trip. Just exploring the back roads. We hope to do some of that, on our getaway next week.

Have fun, I'm looking forward to the photos!

If you get back to the town of the blue sign in the third picture, I would imagine you'd say it was "Be-AT-tris,"---the way almost all women named Beatrice pronounce their names in the South.

I think you'd find hardly any BEEE-atrice, lady or town, below the M/D.

I wish we were making that drive, as well. It's gorgeous.

Have a great weekend. Our leaves up here in northern KY. are all on the ground. We just moved up here and the week before I got here, it rained and knocked off almost all the leaves. I hope you see some pretty ones.
