Turquoise and White Pumpkins

I know that white pumpkins aren’t anything new but how many of us have seen a turquoise pumpkin?    Well, now here’s your chance to see one!

005

I know!!!!   Don't you just love it!!!??   Since turquoise is my accent color in the sunroom I took some craft paint and painted over one of the cheap orange pumpkins from Wal Mart

007

I even like the way some of the orange shows through….

002

I put it on my chippy turquoise table and love the way it pops against the whites & creams

004

I also wrapped the stem with twine

005

010

That’s all I did in the sunroom but I think it makes a HUGE statement…..my neighbor came in and saw it and had a fit!

Now there’s nothing new about white pumpkins so I took another one of my Wal Mart pumpkins and sprayed it gloss white

018

I started out painting it with white craft paint but for some reason it just wasn’t working.    So I took it outside and held the stem with a gloved hand and sprayed away!    It took a couple of coats and it’s not perfect, there are some runs (and hot glue strings) but I think its beauty is in its imperfection

Get ready for an overload of pictures….I couldn’t decide which way I like it best….

013

On top of an old scale

026

027

or by itself….

019

(Maybe one of these days I’ll get around to adding pictures to my frames)

023

I added some moss to the “neck” to cover where I got some overspray on the stem

Both of these projects were quick, easy and inexpensive that anyone can do

Best of all, I can use these again next year if I want to or change the color again

I hope my little pumpkins show that you don’t have to go “all out” to get a “WOW” factor!    Sometimes less really is more (at least that’s what I keep telling myself!)

Judy-Those are just darling...and I love the way the one picks up the turquoise in your table. The glossy one looks like porcelain now! I think I kind of like it-stand alone-but it is cute on the scale too! Pictures in those frames?...nah! xo Diana

Judy,
I love the pumpkins! Great idea! I wanted to invite you over to my blog. I borrowed one of your ideas of putting a lamp and books into small chest or box. They came out so nice and I've gotten so many compliments. Thanks

Love what you did to these pumpkins, I have so far decorated 6 of the dollar store pumpkins, and amazingly I did one in a light turquoise to go in my living room to match my curtains. Hopefully tomorrow I will get some pics posted to share.

I love how something as simple as painting a pumpkin can make it look so elegant. Nice job. Very lovely, especially the turquoise one.

Wow, Judy! I love the turquoise --it's absolutely perfect for your table. I like the white one, too. It's very elegant looking by itself. Great ideas!

The turqouise one is gorgeous!!! I have a lot of blue decor so I was thinking about doing this, but I wasn't sure if it would look good. It looks amazing! I would love it if you linked up at my halloween/fall hop at theblogentourage.com. It's going on all month.
