Quick Adirondack Chair Makeover

Okay, so Sunday afternoon while the hubs was cutting the grass I broke out my number stencils and paint and stenciled the back of my Adirondack chair.

I know the number is a little small for the chair but it’s the largest stencil I had so I’ll just work with it.

This morning I hauled it from the front porch around back, moved another chair I had, and placed it next to my unresponsive hydrangea bush and in front of my blooming crepe myrtle.    (My hydrangea has lots of leaves but has not produced any blooms….I must be doing something wrong!)

I’m going to make an outdoor pillow for it….probably out of either burlap or drop cloth, but I didn’t have time to whip one up last night or today so I just put one of my porch pillows in the chair for purposes of these pictures.

What do you think?    I’m pretty happy with how it turned out even if my number is too small!

And again,  here’s my inspiration photo.     I think I came pretty close to copying replicating it!

Ya’ll know my painter was supposed to start painting my sunroom on Sunday and then he called Saturday to postpone until Tuesday.    Well, today he called again and can’t come at all so he sent his brother over here this afternoon to look at the job.     I’m just a little put out with this guy but I think the brother is going to do a better job.     He’s supposed to start tomorrow morning and be through by Wednesday…..keep your fingers crossed it finally gets done!    If I have too many more delays I’m going to start second guessing my color choice and I don’t want to even go there……

I love the chair and number 3. What a beautiful blog! I am enjoying looking through the past posts.
I also have a few hydrenga bushes that have not had any flowers. I think there are years that they do not bloom. Maybe next year will be the year!
Enjoy your garden. !

Judy, your chair turned out great - looks like the inspiration chair.

I don't know if you have tried to visit, but my blog is gone. I lost the domain to a squatter - my fault, but anyway, I was able to go back and bluecreekhome.blogspot.com is up for now, but a lot of the links are broken as is everyone's button to BCH.
I am not sure I am up to repairing everything. It may be time to take a break and give 100% of my attention to little Mason.
Just thought I would tell you.

Hi Judy,
Was wondering what the tree behind the chair with the pink flowers on is called. Very pretty!!!
I don't know if this is the reason, but I had one hydrenga bush and it bloomed once or twice. In the meantime, I bought another one and now they are both blooming. So, maybe it needs a mate??????

I love it, Judy! And, it's NOT too small, either! It truly adds fun character to your great chair. Now, I wish I had an adirondack chair to do this to, as well! Love the pillow, too. So sorry about your painter backing out, but everything happens for a reason. I'm sure that this new guy will do a fabulous job, and you'll be sharing pics of your "new" spaces before you know it! xo

Chair is cute! Do you cut your hydrangea? If so it wont bloom until it has old wood to bloom on. so if you cut it- dont cut it for a few years.. OR maybe its not getting any sun? I know they are typically shade loving plants but I have MANY in the sun - alot of sun and they produce many flowers.
