Scotts Antique Market

Saturday hubby took me to Scotts Antique Market in Atlanta. We've been wanting to go for some time but just never did. We went over Friday night and stayed at my sister's in Peachtree City...got up early Saturday morning and headed over to the Market. I had no idea what to expect. All I can say is, if you are anywhere near Atlanta, you should go to the Market which is held the 2nd weekend of every month. It is unbelievable!

We did not go expecting to buy anything cause we have a house full of stuff but you never know what you'll find. Hubby apparently thought we were going on a furniture shopping expedition cause he took plenty of cash but he was pleasantly surprised cause I only bought three very inexpensive things. Of course, next week the painters come to start in the kitchen and the week after that the cabinet guy will be here (hopefully) so I didn't want to push my "allowance budget" too much!

Here's all I bought:
This pretty tray that had been sprayed an antique white

Some pretty silver pieces...the guy selling them had them spread out on a sheet for $1.00 each!

I put my shell centerpiece on the tray in the dining room

Now without further ado, let's go to the Market! Lots of eye candy so just enjoy yourself....

There were lots of booths with these gorgeous trays....most over $300!

Loved this booth...in fact we bought this lamp which will work in with my new kitchen colors

I loved everything about her booth

Hubby liked this table and buffet

There are two buildings that make up Scotts....but outside is where the deals are. Here was a very nice shabby chic booth and the prices were very reasonable

Shutters anyone?

Back inside....so many booths were wonderfully displayed

Pay attention to these chairs....one thing I noticed is a lot of the vendors used inexpensive burlap to recover chairs and the prices were out of this world! But, it gave me some ideas for some future projects...

....like this bench, I have one in our bedroom and it is going to get the "burlap" treatment finished off with big nail heads

Miles and miles of carpets

More trays

I just love this grayish color with the burlap covered seats. I wish I had some way to incorporate that color in my house

What a clever idea! Put a glass on top of an old baby buggy for a unique table

I just love urns!

Gorgeous!

Good idea for using shells and urns

I really loved this white urn but he wanted $80 for it. Later that day, Hubby offered him $60 cash but the guy said he he had to have $85! Don't understand that math but needless to say, we didn't get it

These three pieces were being sold together but we could never find the vendor and most things did not show prices

This was the first thing I saw getting out of my car - $525 and it had a mate!

These were the "real deal" at $650 a pair!

All of this white stuff had been sold and was waiting to be loaded in a truck

I thought this gold urn and shell display was interesting so when I went over to check it out, she had $950 on it!!!! She must know something I don't!

I hope you enjoyed visiting the Market with me. We will definately go back again since we now know what to expect. Lots of walking though....about 6 hours worth and still did not see everything. We were just too tired to go back on Sunday.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Judy, I knew you would love Scotts! yes, the outside has better bargains, glad you found that out. I haven't been in awhile, but loved all that furniture. Looks like a lot of white painted things in there now, but there is SO much to choose from. Great things!! So glad you got to finally go & see it for yourself.

Oh, I feel really good about my Staffordshire-like dogs I found at the estate sale last week...$650 a pair! YIKES, way over my budget.

I love everything you bought at the Market, especially the silver. It's so much fun to have pretty unusual pieces to use, isn't it?

Love the tray and urn too.

Thats the kind of place where I start to lose my mind. You just get caught up in the excitement- at least I do- and forget to bargain. I'd be in so much trouble there! I am DYING to see your newly transformed kitchen!!!

I love the pictures! I have heard so much about Scotts. I have a friend who has gone there a lot and has offered to let me go there with her.... but, at the time, I would have a toddler in tow, I do not think she thought that would be much fun. ;-)

Love the photos. Congrats for being featured on 'blogher'. Thanks for telling us about your trip.

Very cool post and great photos. I will be at Scott's in August exhibiting my art. I paint in oil and watercolor and hope new art like mine will find buyers. I only wish Scott's would advertise that there is also new art. I created a link to your post on my blog as well.
