Today it's been 4 weeks since my surgery! It's been a rough road from time to time but I'm getting better every day. I wish I could personally thank each and every one of you that sent prayers my way....they were truly felt and appreciated. My husband has been an outstanding caregiver, but ya'll, the man can't cook or clean! I'm going to engage a cleaning company to help me for about a month.
I know in some parts of the country it's still frigid cold and snow still on the ground but it's been absolutely gorgeous here for the past few days. We have our windows opened up and last night we grilled out....just sitting outside in the sunshine does my soul good.
I do want to make one comment about my health situation. A good blog friend was kind enough to mention that I was having surgery on her blog and someone made a comment that it all seemed so "mysterious". I have chosen not to share publicly what type of surgery I had as it was not life or death (or cancer) but still was considered major surgery which will require a few months of recovery. So I was a bit taken aback by that comment....all my blog friend asked for was prayers and thoughts being sent my way. Maybe I'm being too sensitive about the comment but it just hit me the wrong way. Oh well, I hope this clears up any "mystery" about my health issues.
Again, thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your prayers.

I think there are just some people that can't stand not knowing every detail, Judy. They are usually the busybodies in their local neighborhoods. lol I know that you got lots of prayers and I hope that helped you just knowing that!
ReplyDeleteI am praying that you have a good recovery and that Spring and Summer see you fully restored to good health. xo Diana
ps. I was sick all winter (as you know) and MyHero cannot cook or clean or even do laundry. Send your cleaners up here when you are done with them, will you?
Hope to see you posting more often now that you are a bit better. xo Diana
Glad to hear you are feeling better and try not to let comments of that nature bother you, I don't think they meant anything by it (I am only guessing). Hope this warm weather cheers you up.
ReplyDeleteHi Judy, So good to hear you are on the road to recovery. Don't know whether you knew but I had a total hysterectomy five week ago. Thankfully there was no cancer, but I had the traditional operation(no robotic surgery, so I am still on the mend too. Starting to feel better every day but know I can overdue it. My incision lets me know when I'm pushing myself to much. Listen to your body and get the rest you need. We are having glorious warm weather and it beckons me outside. Hope you'll be back to a healthy place soon.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Noreen
You continue to be in my prayers Judy. No need to worry about the other "comment". There is nothing wrong with keeping something personal private, although this world of sharing EVERYTHING would disagree. God knows, and we are asked to pray for others, period.
ReplyDeleteglad you're recovering and taking time to heal. be good to yourself.

So glad your recovery is coming along nicely, Judy! Some people are just too nosey and want all the details on everything. And at times we are rubbed the wrong way no matter what we say or do. I was quite tickled when you mention that your hubby can't cook or clean. The last time I was sick with a cold and stayed in bed for a couple of days, my hubby peaked his head in on the first day and asked if there was anything he could do and I said no - well, he left me alone, didn't offer me anything to eat or drink until I felt better and got up to fix myself something. I haven't let him forget what he did or should I say, didn't do. I kid him about it but deep down wonder what would happen if I have a serious illness. He only knows how to make sandwiches and cook eggs and bacon.
ReplyDeleteJudy.. so glad you are one the mend. NO housework for AT LAST 6 months!! Tell hubby that's doctor's orders..
ReplyDeleteI am glad to hear you are doing well. It has been gorgeous here in GA too, and it does the soul tremendous good to see so much sunshine after all the rain! xo
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I guess some people just want to know all the details even though it's not their business. I'm glad to hear that you're recovering well. I hope you continue to get better. Hiring a cleaning service sounds like a great idea while you're recovering! My husband can cook great, but he doesn't clean as well as me. He just takes care of the bare necessities. So, if I had to be out of commission for a while, I would definitely consider it!
ReplyDeleteso glad your felling doing better.
ReplyDeleteTake it slow hope your mother is doing good.
Some people can be such control freaks. I remember when I was a teenager a man in our church would always say "their so called sickness, surgery, whatever". Even as a kid that bothered me. I'm glad you are on the mend and was able to enjoy being outside yesterday. Sounds like you have a wonderful husband!
ReplyDeleteHope each day finds you stronger and feeling better and better, Judy. It's good that you could get out and enjoy the sunshine, and I hope you enjoy the rain that's headed our way ... knowing that Spring is going to be close behind. Take care of yourself, my friend, and don't overdo.
ReplyDeleteI like to check your blog when I can and it's nice to hear you are doing well. Take care of yourself and know that you don't owe anyone any explanations!
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better now! I know what you mean about the husband re cooking and cleaning! My house was a pit after my knee surgery. Not cluttered or messy just pretty dirty. We didn't starve -- thank God for Mellow Mushroom.
ReplyDeleteAs my Mama used to say, "You don't have to tell everything you know!" ;>)
I'm with you on keeping some things personal. Here's how crazy personal I am . . . I didn't even list the weight of my children on their birth announcements for fear of people thinking "OOHH!" or "OUCH!!" or "POOR THING!"
ReplyDeleteNone of their beeswax!
So glad you are on the mend. Springtime is a great time to start feeling like yourself again.
Hope you are feeling better each day. I understand your need for privacy. I don't share every detail of my life on my blog either. Take care, Shelley
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that you are doing better. Sone people are nuts! I had to have a hysterectomy a few years and threatened my husband with in an inch of his life if he put anything about it on social media. I never realized I was a private person until that.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for you to be back with us so we can see more pics of the new baby.
The weather is beautiful in West Alabama also.
No need to worry. Everything about our lives is not for publication. Prayers for a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteOh Judy... don't worry about it. Some people just have to be jerks.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear you're doing well :)
(((hugs)))
