The Girls

leopard bra

Okay, ladies, today I decided I’d do something I’ve never done before (or at least haven’t done in a long time)…I went to be “professionally” measured for a new bra.    Since I’ve entered my “mature years” my body shape has changed and I’ve gained some weight and I was tired of buying and wearing those cheapies I’d pick up at Wal Mart (I can’t believe I admitted that)….although Wal Mart does have some cute ones.

I also wanted a little more support for “the girls” but still have some pretty undergarments without looking all “granny like”.    I ended up with a nude one and a leopard one….I know, my wild side is coming out.      The leopard one is very tasteful but pretty and the nude one I can wear with just about anything.

Now I just have to do something about my granny panties…..just joking (maybe)!

LOL- Your girls are going to love you. I need new bras, too. I don't know why I hate buying them so much...at least I don't wear granny underwear though-lol...and most of my bras and underwear are black-like most of the rest of my wardrobe. I think I need a tiger for my tank (top), too. xo Diana .... or leopard-whatever-

I buy mine from Target! I used to buy them from Macy/Bloomingdales but I've found they don't last any longer than the Target ones. I've heard that Victoria Secret is a great place to get fitted but I haven't tried it yet.

So did the professionals steer you to a different size? That's what I wonder about.

Now the granny panties, they are going to the grave with me. I admit it...I love them. :)

I've always wondered if a professional sizer would put me in a different size or not. I'm not heavy up top, so support is not the issue. Just a good silouette is what I'm after. I usually shop at Kohl's for mine. They have a HUGE selection! They're so darn expensive so I try to go when they're on sale too. Hope you're liking your new "friends" now!

did the same thing this past summer. i'm not very gifted in the girls area. so finding a bra that fits and helps flatter has always been a challenge for me.

Nordstroms has always been my bra store. i just love beautiful simple underwear, but it MUST match.

anyway, while in florida this summer i came upon "Soma". what a great store. beautiful items, wonderful service and even better, the prices.

great and beautiful selection of panties, from granny to thong (ummm no.)

Good for you, Judy! I've actually been pondering getting measured myself. I feel like the size I'm used to buying just isn't cutting it anymore. I think it started to enter my mind when I saw there was some crazy new show coming on one of the cable channels that had to do with bra professionals. How did you go about finding a place?

My mother used to say, wear clean underwear in case you have an accident and have to go to the hospital.
(This is a play on words for this post and the previous.)

I usually buy new bras around Mother's Day as a gift to myself because of my past "motherly duty".

You have managed to bring a big smile to my face even with a sick baby to care for!
I just ordered a pack of Ahh bras from QVC!!! I can't even tell I am wearing one. I am going for comfort in my 'changing body years' and look at you! All sexy Anna with the leopard print!!!
Good for you.

Lol - nothing better than a great bra to lift the girls. Seriously, something every woman should invest in.

I too had the same epiphany about a year ago and went to get fitted in a well know lingerie store that specialized in fittings. I had been buying the wrong size for ever. Bought two, paid 3 times what I usually had in the past but felt it was well worth it. Came time to buy again and I decided to shop for the same maker and size on line and low and behold I found several on line ebay shops that sell the brand and size I like (they were new with tags). 60.00 bra for 20.00. So keep that in mind when you want to get another bra.
