I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas.....

....it's not likely that we'll have a white Christmas here in Alabama so I decided to create one for myself. In keeping with the cottage makeover I've made in my kitchen, it seemed to call out for an all white decor, with a little turquoise thrown in for good measure!

But first, here's the "piece de resistance" of the kitchen, my little french-type chandelier. I found this one last weekend in a little boutique and it was just what I'd been looking for to hang over the kitchen sink. I mentioned to my daughter and DIL that I had found the "perfect" chandy and they told me that if that's what I wanted for Christmas, they'd get it for me! I just love it! Thanks Shannon and Jennifer! (And yes, you are looking at unfinished shutters which will be painted and installed next week (hopefully) along with finishing the painting where the old light fixture was and some other touch ups....)

This is a short wall next to the French door leading in to the laundry room area where I hung one of my $5.00 architectural pieces and the existing "Love" picture frame (remember it has the scrapbook paper inside the openings). I got the "Grandkids" frame at Ross but have yet to put a picture inside....those people in the frame are not us!

Here's the cabinet we had built over the stove during the kitchen re-vamp. I used some of my white pieces here and threw in some white and silver ornaments with a little greenery. Don't you love the turquoise "Joy" ornanment?

Love the cute "bottle brush" type wreath I got at Big Lots which I hung on the french door

I used turquoise Christmas balls here with the round mirror. Go here to read about how I turned it from a white mirror to the yummy color it is now.

Brought in an old urn from the deck, filled it with greenery and white Christmas balls, and placed it in the center of our kitchen table

I just love how my chandelier turned out....I used two garlands, lots of white ornaments and some Dollar Tree ribbon....oh, also the turqouise glass dangly-things from Wal Mart finished the look. (More pics of the chandy further down)

I had a lot of fun decorating my three corner cabinet

Here's more of the chandy....these pics are out of order

Tarnished silver trays and coffee/tea urns on top

Well, that's the Christmas kitchen tour. Still working on the den, dining room and foyer. I hope you enjoyed seeing my "White Christmas".

  1. Everything is beautiful...love the blues/greens and that round mirror looks fabulous! My silver was very tarnished but I thought it looked better that way with my fall stuff. I broke down today and polished it so it would look better with some mercury glass for Christmas!

  24. Well my hubby flies into Alabama each week to work at a customers. . . I could send you some of the white snow if you'd like. :)

He told me Alabama is very nice, but he likes our cold snowy weather better this time of the year. . . Christmas time. So he has the best of both worlds. Nice during the week, cold when he's home on the weekend. Since he likes it so much. . . I also save all the shoveling for him :)

    Blessings,

    Sher
