Christmas on the Coosa and Dance Recital

What a weekend so far! Friday night Taylor had a little Christmas recital and Saturday she was on a float at the annual Christmas on the Coosa parade. The parade is held in Wetumpka, a small town just outside of Montgomery. I can't believe this is the first time I've ever been! Wetumpka is such a charming small town. It seems the whole town shows up to support the parade and participants and you really get the sense of a united community. That's what I love about smaller towns....you don't feel lost in the crowd....someone is always calling out to you and you know just about everyone you see.

These first three pictures are courtesy of my wonderful friend Melissa at A Little Loveliness. Melissa's daughter Mary Ashley is in the dance class after Taylor's and Melissa took these photos and e-mailed them to me. Thanks Melissa! And if you haven't been to her blog, you don't know what you are missing. In addition to lovely pictures of her family, she is one of the most inspiring women I know.

Look at her tummy hanging out (she insisted on wearing her tu-tu this low)

When Ms. Gi Gi (the dance teacher) went around asking everyone to tell their name, Taylor said "Mary Ashley"! She loves Mary Ashley

Mary Ashley is 5th from left (sorry it is so blurry)

Here she is 3rd from left

After all that dancing we went for mexican and Taylor had to try on the sombrero (she is a real drama queen)

Gorgeous curls (while they lasted)

Look at this little angel I found under the tree - as always, she is my heart

There is a park here on the river

Can you see the arched bridge in the background?

I love the pretty church here in the background

Here comes the parade!

Jackson talking to Santa

If this dog could talk he'd be saying "Roll Tide" (I can't believe I took this cause ya'll know we are Auburn fans)

Here's Ms. Taylor waving to the crowd (she has on the pink gloves)

And last but not least - my sweet grandbabies - TWIN LOVE!

Be sure to check back on Monday when I'll be posting my dining room all decked out for Christmas

  5. Looks like a wonderful time! And you grandchildren are just precious!! Love the curls on Ms. Taylor. And thanks for the Roll Tide dog; he is adorable, too. I think you must be a good sport. Though I'm a Bama fan, I have many friends, and a husband who are Auburn fans.

  6. Sweet pics. We passed by everything on the way to lake Jordan yesterday. We wanted to go and sometimes get to go to Christmas on the Coosa but had a party to go to yesterday on the lake.
I know you were proud of Taylor!

  8. I just loved the Christmas recital! It is so precious and a highlight of the holiday season for me. Taylor and Mary Ashley were surely the cutest girls on stage all night, and I'm not even a teeny bit biased. :) We were so busy preparing for our Sunday company that I didn't mention the parade to Mary Ashley, so she didn't realize what she was missing. But I know it was fun!
