Prayers For Ethan

I was going to post about my latest project but it seemed so inconsequential compared to a situation that’s been going on locally for four days.    On Tuesday a man entered a school bus in an attempt to kidnap some children.    When the bus driver tried to stop him, the kidnapper shot and killed him.    A little boy, six years old, fainted and the kidnapper took him off the bus and entered his underground storm shelter with him.    The news has reported the child has Asperger’s and ADHD.    Can you imagine how frightened and scared this little boy is?    His name is Ethan and I would ask that you send up a special prayer for his safe return to his family.    The parents have been able to send him his medication and some coloring books and the authorities are speaking with the kidnapper and Ethan through a PVC pipe in the ground.     Some people are leaving their porch lights on until Ethan is returned to his family.

No one knows what the motive is for the kidnapping or shooting.    Please keep this family and little Ethan in your prayers.

  5. Like Nana, my heart just hurts for that child. My consolation is that I know God has send angels to protect Ethan from harm. Whatever the sick individual does to his body, to his mind, God is protecting him and shielding him for reality. If the man has plans to kill him, his soul has already left his body for Christ took the sting of death away on the cross for us. As a parent and a grandparent, I pray fervently for the peace and comfort those that love him need now. I'm glad you shared this and gave us all another moment to life up this family in prayer.

  11. I know this is such an awful thing to watch play out on the news. Sometimes, it's best for me to turn it off since there seems to be nothing but violence and heart ache going on everywhere. I've been watching the news coverage about little Ethan. I can't imagine what the parents must be going through and how scared the little boy must be. Hopefully, this whole crisis will end soon and the boy will be unharmed physically. Not sure how he will do mentally after something like this! Between terroist attacks overseas, school shootings here and kidnappings and tornadoes damaging property, the news has been a sad place to visit.
