One Day At A Time

My husband and I have decided we are tired of being out of shape, not eating the right way and being couch potatoes.     So we’re trying to eat healthier and started walking (2 days in a row now!).   You gotta start somewhere right?     Actually, I do feel better, even though my legs hurt like crazy!

We are going to the beach next month and I am determined to lose some weight by then.    Wish me luck!   I’d love any suggestions on how to stay motivated and your favorite recipes for low-fat, healthy eating.

  1. Oh My Goodness! I just read a list of the worst fast foods which had nearly 2000 calories not to mention the ridiculous amounts of fat and sodium! My husband and I juice and that helps me with my desire for fattening foods.Also making soups with fresh ingredients is great to stay healthy. Plus with the warmer weather keep walking. I lost 13.5 lbs. last summer walking and only put 2 lbs. back on.I am working harder this year so I can double my weight loss! I will check my recipe file for you! Keep up the good work! :)

  2. Judy I am so happy for you! That is just fantastic news. I promise you will feel great very soon. It's worth it to have sore muscles!

    I have lost 46.6 pounds since September and feel the best I have felt in years. I'm amazed at how being healthy with my eating habits really does pay off. We eat fresh fruits, veggies and lean protein. No sugar! Drink plenty of water and excercise is the key.
    Being simple is what works and is the easiest to stick with.

  3. I started walking April 1st and I am trying to walk every day. I sure feel a lot better. I am not an exercise person, so walking is the perfect answer for me. Good luck with your new exercise plan. Love & blessings from NC!

    I ride my bike almost every day and try to watch what I eat...no bread most of the time.

  6. I am trying to get healthier and lose weight too. I am walking/running every other day and also do hand weights and other exercises at home. The # on the scale hasn't gone down much, but I do feel better and like I have toned up some. I have a long way to go! Good luck!!!

  7. Girl, two days is a great beginning!! You have to start somewhere, and having a goal like losing weight before going to the beach next month will keep you motivated. Keep uo the good work!

  8. Keep walking, tons of water and eat only fresh veggies, fruits and lean meats, including salmon or other fish. I admire you! I know you're going to feel much better and being healthy is what it's all about.
