The $6 million man!

Well, it's official....Tommy Tuberville is leaving Auburn, along with $6 million to buy out his contract. Funny, I never had anyone give me $6 million when I left their employment!

According to ESPN, during Tommy Tuberville's 10 seasons at Auburn, the Tigers were the best football team in the state. His tenure included a perfect season and a string of teams that contended for SEC championships.

In 2004 Auburn had a 13-0 season when we finished No. 2 in the nation and won the SEC title for the first time in 15 years. How well I remember that year....it was great!

This year Auburn went 5-7 and shamefully lost to Alabama 36-0 in the Iron Bowl, our biggest rivalry.

Tuberville issued the following statement: "The last 10 years have been a great time in my life, both professionally and personally. It's been a great place to coach and live, and we've had a lot of success along the way. I'm going to remain in Auburn and help the Auburn family however I can. I'm very appreciative of the coaches, players, staff and Auburn fans over the last decade."

The Auburn family has lost a great coach but maybe it's time to move on.

  5. We're Alabama fans :) BUT did not agree with the way Tuberville was treated. He's up there with Pat Dye and Shug to us and shouldn't have been treated with such disrespect. We don't think he actually resigned :/ they've been working on this for what, about five years now?! And he's beat Alabama for 7 of the last 10!

As the story comes out I think he made a good decision, for himself anyway. He will be missed.

  7. Another great one...bites the dust! What in the world is going on? How about trust, and staying loyal? Come on Fans...Keep the good ones...they are becoming harder to locate these days. It's not ALL about $$$$ I know it is the way of the world...But this man talk respect! Can't put a price tag on such. We need to change our thinking. We all are losing when we treat others with such disrespect!
