Biloxi Bound Weekend

Staying here.....

Dining here....

Sleeping here....

Suite (sweet) dreams!

A few years ago hubby and I started visiting the Biloxi/Gulfport, Mississippi area. While he likes the excitement of the casinos, I enjoy finding new places to shop. This weekend we are getting away for a few days before the hectic holiday season begins.

The Beau Rivage in Biloxi is our favorite place to stay. The hotel is absoloutely beautiful and it was restored to perfection after Hurricane Katrina. There are quite a few restaurants inside the hotel/casino area as well as a promenade of shops. In the years we have been going to the area, I am quite familiar with the shops in the area but I'm always seeking out new ones and this weekend will be no exception. I've even "googled" some flea markets in the area and plan on checking them out.

Have a safe and wonderful weekend!

  1. Do they still have the spa there? While you are there go check out Ocean Springs, I love Walter Anderson prints, and the pottery place. Get boat and ride out to Horne Island is so beautiful, on the south side of the island it white sugar beach and clear water, like in Destin,FL.

  2. Have a great weekend! We vacationed there in 2000. The beach was not great but the casinos were nice. Have fun and hope you both win big either from the antique stores or from the casinos!

  4. Judy, I know you're going to have a wonderful time in Biloxi. Have you ever eaten at Jocelyn's in Ocean Springs? It's well worth the drive, but go early. I think they open at five and fill up early. It's excellent!

I'll look forward to hearing all about your trip and seeing your pictures.

    Sincerely,

    Janie

  9. Have a great weekend! And thanks for the tip on those plates. If I can find a way to sneak over to P'ville before they are snatched up, I will feel like I have hit the jackpot!

  10. Ooohhhh, John and I stay at the Beau Rivage and love it. Yummy food to choose from and although I miss a balcony, it's still a gorgeous place to stay! When you're in Perdido Pass, try the Perdido Beach Resort!

  12. Hi Judy, I have been going back over several of your past posts, and I like your style. Very similar to the things I like to do. I know Rhoda, and I live in AL, too...but way south. However, it has gotten a little nippy here today. Love all you did with the room!

  15. Hope you have a wonderful weekend! My husband and I were stationed at Keesler AFB in Biloxi for 4 years! I fell in the love with the area. We were transferred the year before Katrina hit...I haven't been back.

The first place we stayed while in the process of moving was the Beau. I loved the boutique shops and the HUGE floral arrangments. I still have a travel mug from the Roasted Bean...I treasure it!

Hope you have fun and enjoy those beautiful elaborate buffets!
