The Cable Guy and Fall Decorating

Right now you're probably saying to yourself - "Self, how can fall decorating and the cable guy even belong in the same sentence." Well, let me tell ya....

Apparently we have been experiencing some "technical difficulties" with our cable and tv's (according to my husband) so he called the cable company to send someone out. Cable Guy was supposed to be here between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. He finally got here at about 8:30! THEN he wanted to go up in the attic where we store most of our holiday decorations. I've been putting off going up there to get my fall decorations because...well, you'd just have to see my attic to understand why I've been putting it off! Anyway, HE climbs up in the attic and hubby is right behind him. I jokingly said "maybe ya'll can get down the fall decorations while you're up there." Well, they did - both of them! I was not prepared to be handed all those boxes and bags and right now they are just sitting in the messy office which of course will force me to get stuff put out before I'm ready.

Well, that just lead me to surf the net for some inspiring fall decorating ideas and here's some of what I've found:

Isn't this just the cutest idea ever ? You put this out on your porch so little goblins can get a lollipop!!

I actually had two urns with pumpkins in them like this on my back deck last year....it is a wonderful look. (I use "artificial" pumpkins so they last from year to year).

I hope you get a little inspiration from all these beautiful ideas. I know I did!

  1. Hi Judy, I'm so glad you dropped by. I just love your postings! That pumpkin address topiary is a brilliant idea! I'm gonna have to use it! You have great taste in decorating...love your designs! I'd love to have a southern get together. It was a lot of fun to meet Susan of between naps on the porch , blog. After seeing each others homes and reading each other's thoughts, you almost feel like you made the friendship before meeting the person...Let me know the next time you're in atlanta. I am NW of the city in Acworth.
    Be good,

  5. Funny story, Judy! I love it!

Great inspiration photos. I'm going to start decorating the front porch, this week. I've been sort of waiting for our mums to bloom. Lots of buds, but no blooms yet. Can't wait!

  10. So much "eye candy"! Thanks for some wonderful ideas. Living in hot and humid Florida, we're not any where near Fall weather yet. I'm dreaming of it though.

  11. Hey Judy... thanks for putting even more ideas in my head. I love all the pics, and I keep trying to figure out where to put more fall decor in my house. I think I may need to stop. My daughter keeps saying, "Mom, isn't Halloween at the end of October? It's still September." I know, but I want it to last and I want it to get cold.

  13. Thanks for collecting all these GREAT inspiration pics and posting them all here together! WOW! I'm so excited about some of these....

I have flirted with the idea of getting faux pumpkins the past couple of falls. I may invest in a few this year. But I gotta have a few real ones...actually, I just enjoy the pumpkin farm too much. :o) Kinda like Christmas trees, right?

  17. Hi Judy, I just came from susan's blog where you were listed so I had to come for a visit. I seem to gravitate towards the Southern way of decor. I am a Calif girl so we just slowly slip into fall. I really need some inspiration and this is doing the trick. I went as far as taking out some of fall decor this morning. One step at a time I can't rush into these things you know. hahaha. Love your blog and I am putting it on my list of daily visits. thankyou for sharing . fondly Kathysue[rms]
