Favorite Magazines

I love decorating magazines! Two of my favorites are Traditional Home and Southern Lady. Whenever I see new issues of magazines in the store, I get a little "high" and can't wait to take some home with me. I have spent countless hours pouring over decorating magazines and getting inspiring ideas that I can't wait to incorporate in my home. How many of ya'll feel the same way? What are some of your favorite magazines?

These pages caught my eye...the article is about how to dress your fireplace/mantel after the holiday decorations are put away.

This page makes me think that spring is not far away. I love the little eggs in the birdsnest

This photo is of actor Sidney Poitier's home. His wife Joanna is an interior designer. I love the 18th century chinoiserie desk in her study....so elegant.

Better view of the study....don't you love the silk drapes and chair?

While I was out of town this past weekend, I went to a wonderful little shop that had all their Christmas decorations marked down 50-75%. I bought 2 rolls of ribbon (you can see each roll was $25 and I got them for about $6 each)!!
I love this green and chocolate combination

The frosted magnolias look much better than they photographed - I got three of these

  2. Good Morning Judy,
I don't buy or collect magazines. I can't really afford them. My Mom buys several of them tho. She buys those Country Living and things like that. When I'm at her house, I do look thru them. They have a lot of beautiful things in them. I love the ribbon and Magnolia's you got. They both look so good together. I used to have a Mantle at our other house that my Dad built me, but we wasn't able to bring it to where we live at now. I sure do miss it tho. I love the look of Sidney's office den. His wife has beautiful taste. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.

    Hugs,
    Karen H.

  5. Thanks for stopping by and for adding me to your blog roll! I'll add you to mine also.

I just became a grandmother for the first time this past Oct. to a little girl, she is so precious. They live about 2 1/2 hours from me so I dont get to see her everyday, but I go every chance I have!

I've found a few of my new blog friends from looking at other's blogrolls. And some have found me the same way. Its fun, and I enjoy meeting new people.

    Have a blessed day!

  6. Hi Judy,

My favorite magazines are Country Home/Living and Creative Home (a speciality mag from BH&G). Love that green and brown ribbon you got!

Thanks for the paint tip color - I'll look for it next time I'm in one of the big box stores. I just bought a color called Snow Fall for another project in my dining room. There are so many whites to choose from!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again!

  7. Hi Judy,
I'm Kelly's Mom (Kelly's Korner) and my name is Judy also! I did a post on my blog last year about magazines. I love decorating magazines!! My biggest problem is throwing them away..I just can't seem to get rid of them until they are about 2 years old or so. I love to go through them again! I enjoy your blog!

  9. Heh. Southern Lady is my guilty little secret - there are only a handful of bookstores that carry it out here, and once they're out, they're out!

I'm starting to warm up to the new Victoria - just picked up their second issue and was favourably impressed. (I'm biased though - I was a diehard fan and collector of the previous incarnation).
